Training at Poli-tape in Remagen: A behind-the-scenes look at innovation and quality
Recently, Jan and Mattice Libbrecht from AdFortem had the opportunity to attend an intensive product training session at Poli-tape, the leading manufacturer of self-adhesive materials. The experience was not only educational but also truly impressive—from the scale of the factory to the advanced production techniques and the company's commitment to quality.
When we arrived in Remagen, Germany, we were immediately struck by the sheer size of the company. During a comprehensive tour of the production hall, warehouse, and administrative areas, we felt as though we were walking through the so-called cleanrooms—a clear testament to the high standards of quality and care that Poli-tape maintains in its production processes. What stood out to us the most was the exceptional cleanliness of the entire site.
We had the opportunity to see various production units in action: from the two self-adhesive material production lines, the glitter foil production line, to the flex production process. Each production line operated with utmost precision and care, highlighting Poli-tape's dedication to quality.
What truly sets Poli-tape apart is its focus on quality at every level. At each production unit, there is a laboratory for quality control, where every product is thoroughly tested before leaving the factory. We were also invited to visit the various laboratories dedicated to the development of new products. It was impressive to see how innovation and quality control go hand in hand at Poli-tape.
The company also uses numerous robots to automate various tasks, such as cutting and packaging products. This not only boosts efficiency but ensures that the products consistently meet high-quality standards.
After the tour, we had the chance to dive deeper into the products offered by Poli-tape. We discussed the different types of adhesives, monomers, and polymers, as well as the characteristics of water-based and solvent-based adhesives. We also paid special attention to the sandblasting films, which are known for their durability and versatility.
Of course, we couldn't overlook the application tapes, where it all began for Poli-tape. These tapes are used worldwide in a variety of industries, from signage to the automotive sector. Poli-tape offers a wide range of products that are specifically designed for different applications, including temporary and permanent bonding, protection, and decoration.
This training day at Poli-tape was an incredibly valuable learning experience for us. Not only did we gain extensive knowledge about the products and technologies behind Poli-tape, but we also established meaningful connections that will further strengthen our collaboration.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Olcay Aksel and Piet Weltjens for making this training possible. Their dedication and support were key to the success of this day.
At AdFortem, we look forward to continuing our collaboration with Poli-tape and are excited to apply the insights we've gained in our future projects.
